Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Software Engineer to lead the implementation of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) capable of ultra-fast response to dispatch commands and grid supply variations.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to ensure the development of high-quality control software for BESS.
  2. System Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement advanced BESS plant controllers.
  3. Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with utilities, suppliers, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of design and deliverables.
  4. Testing and Commissioning: Verify the testing and commissioning of new advanced BESS plant controllers.
  5. Process Improvement: Develop new tools, implement processes, and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement of the technology/engineering/delivery value stream.

Requirements

  1. Domain Experience: Must have 8+ years of experience developing control software for solar PV or battery energy storage systems.
  2. Technical Expertise: Proficient in power grid, power generation, and/or renewable integration control, utility market applications, DigSilent PowerFactory, EMTP, or other power systems modeling tools, model-based control SW development, Git workflow, Linux, scripting (Python, Batch), relationship & time series database, automated tests, Jupyter, Deepnote, and cloud platforms (Azure and AWS).
  3. Personal Qualities: Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively, a go-getter professional with a can-do attitude, dynamic professional with the ability to positively interact and collaborate with a diverse group of people, excellent time manager, discipline to be productive in an Agile environment, willingness to learn and work with tools outside the traditional stack, creative thinker, business-savvy, and ability to travel up to 25% including international travel.
