Job Summary

Brandt is seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team in North Valley and surrounding area, reporting to our Kamloops branch. This position involves the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments in a shop environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the working condition of equipment, diagnose issues, assemble/disassemble, order parts, and repair heavy duty equipment efficiently and effectively.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently, and use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems accurately.
  • Document work orders with machine information, actions taken, and time taken, and continually assess service task hazards to ensure work is performed safely and to accepted standards.
  • Use computer applications and information systems to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis, and use parts catalogues to locate parts and order them from parts personnel.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Required Skills

  • Must be able to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Must be able to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Required Experience

  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred.
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade is preferred.
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence, and able to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
  • Must be able to meet physical demands, including climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
