Our Job
The Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in providing general maintenance support for the Wetaskiwin facility, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. This position requires flexibility, as the Maintenance Technician will be on a rotating on-call schedule. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling building and production equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and supporting projects, including working on project teams to design, install, and commission new or modified equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain complete and accurate records of maintenance inspections and repairs, preventative maintenance activities, and meter readings
• Schedule and track preventative maintenance on all equipment, machinery, and boilers
• Source and inventory control of machinery and hatchery parts
• Troubleshoot machine problems and devise solutions
• Respond to maintenance issues and alarms, after hours and on weekends and holidays, on a rotational basis
• Work with hatchery and quality teams to ensure proper operation of hatchery equipment, including incubators and hatchers
• Seasonal grounds maintenance and record keeping
• Support production with setting eggs into incubators

Requirements
• Attention to detail
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations
• Practical experience performing as a maintenance technician in an industrial setting
• Excellent mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot
• Experience with automated manufacturing equipment
• Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, a self-starter who can multi-task and change priorities
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license required
• Valid Alberta Class 3 driver's license an asset
• HVAC experience an asset
• Industrial Mechanic (millwright) or equivalent work experience an asset
