AV Systems Technician

Job Description

The Installation Technician I will be responsible for performing various installation tasks on AVI-SPL contracted projects. These tasks may include cable pulls, cable terminations, system equipment and components, rack systems and metal fabrication per project directives and requirements. The successful candidate will also be responsible for coordinating with the Lead Technician to ensure projects achieve time, scope, budget, quality, safety and customer satisfaction requirements.

Responsibilities

- Installation tasks: Perform installation tasks as noted in the job summary and in support of the Lead Technician
- Schematics interpretation: Read and interpret electronic, signal flow schematics and architectural blueprints
- Tool operation: Use hand tools, power tools and testing equipment to include soldering, crimping various types of connectors along with various other AV systems related tasks
- Equipment management: Assist the Lead Technician with management and security of all associated equipment and tools on job sites
- Fabrication assistance: Assist with basic mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring
- Travel: Travel to various job sites as required

Skills and Qualifications

- Effective communication skills
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
- Understanding of AV related testing equipment
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Basic to intermediate computer knowledge
- Valid Driver's License and a clean driver's abstract that meets AVI-SPL Driving Privileges standards
