Fitter/Welder Specialist

As a Fitter/Welder at Walters Group Inc, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and fitting structural steel assemblies.

You will lay out reference points and symbols on the structural steel according to the blueprint and assemble and fit metal sections and plates using tack welding, bolting, or other methods.

You will operate welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as flux-cored arc welding and ensure safe work practices are adhered to and appropriate PPE is worn at all times.

Additionally, you will mentor apprentices and junior fitters by sharing knowledge and safe work practices.

The work location for this position is the Princeton facility.

To be considered for this position, you must have a minimum of 3 years of Fitting/Welding structural steel experience and completion of a three-year apprenticeship program in Metal Fabrication or Welding is an asset.

You must also have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, read a tape measure in both metric and imperial, operate overhead cranes, and have current or past CWB certification for FCAW, MCAW.

Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures and excellent communication and analytical skills are also required.
