Job Title: Sales Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Sales Assistant to join our team at Avalon College Limited o/a Avalon Career College. As a Sales Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing sales transactions, and maintaining a high level of product knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate cash register and process sales transactions
  • Provide advice and recommendations to customers on products and services
  • Supervise staff and ensure a high level of customer service
  • Teach interest or professional development courses
  • Exhibit designers plan and develop permanent and temporary or moveable exhibits and displays for museum exhibitions, trade shows, conventions, retail spaces and other exhibitions
  • Operate computerized inventory record keeping and re-ordering systems
  • Perform data entry and maintain sales records
  • Provide customer service and resolve customer complaints
  • Train staff and assist in display of merchandise
  • Conduct sales transactions through Internet-based electronic commerce
  • Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties and delivery dates
  • Greet customers and discuss type, quality and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental or lease
  • Maintain sales records for inventory control
  • Prepare merchandise for purchase, rental or lease
  • Design settings, scenic environments, costumes and lighting
Work Environment:

The Sales Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in sales or customer service
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Ability to maintain a high level of product knowledge
