About the Role
\This Purchasing Specialist position plays a key role in managing the procurement process for our Distribution Centres. The successful candidate will work closely with our Distribution Services team to ensure the efficient flow of goods and supplies.

Responsibilities
\- \
- Manage the procurement process for our Distribution Centres\
- Represent Distribution Services, collaborating with other divisions on continuous improvement projects\
- Create purchase orders for all Distribution Services\
- Analyze merchandise production compared to supplies usage to ensure forward trends are defined by the requirements, avoiding stock shortages\
- Review production supplies reorder points and minimum, maximum inventory requirements by item monthly and provide recommendations for changes\
- Monitor and facilitate inventory reporting including out of stock items\
- Partner with DC operations to ensure a smooth procurement process which improves the effectiveness of the flow of supplies and provide recommendations as required\
- Collaborate with DC operations to explore opportunities for new supplies, reviewing agreements and setting up new items\
- Perform analysis and provide reporting on potential item obsolescence by reviewing usage vs on hand inventory\
- Special projects and other duties as assigned\
\
Requirements
\The ideal candidate will possess:
\- \
- A recommended College Degree in Business Administration, Operations, Procurement or three (3) to five (5) years related area of equivalent job experience\
- Strong organizational, communication, supplier relationship management and intermediate analytical skills\
- Must be detail oriented and familiar with purchasing practices\
- Experience in inventory management, program administration, financial cost analysis and forecasting, and project management\
- Intermediate computer skills in Word and Excel\
- Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management an asset but not required\
