Job Summary
Island Health is seeking two full-time Cardiologists to join our team of dedicated cardiac internists and intensivists at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. As a Cardiologist, you will be part of a well-established Division of Cardiology in Victoria, working to establish a Heart Health Division in Nanaimo.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consultation services for hospitalist and other specialty groups
- Interpret echocardiography results (Canadian level 2 training or higher with currency required)
- Read Holter and ECG results
- Supervise nuclear perfusion imaging
- Perform pericardiocentesis and DC Cardioversions
- Conduct rapid cardiac assessment clinics
- Follow up with patients through a private office and participate in cardiology division meetings
Requirements
- FRCPC Cardiology or eligibility for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Internal Medicine and Cardiology exams
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
- Preference given to candidates with experience working in a coronary care unit and acute and office-based cardiology
