Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate or Research Associate to join our team at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS). The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in the field of bioinorganic chemistry, collaborating with our existing research team, and contributing to the development of new projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement research projects in bioinorganic chemistry, working closely with the research team.
  • Conduct experiments and analyze data to advance our understanding of bioinorganic chemistry.
  • Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, as well as postdoctoral researchers, in the laboratory.
  • Collaborate with other researchers to develop new projects and secure funding.
  • Write and publish research papers, as well as present research findings at conferences.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory protocols and procedures.
  • Train and supervise laboratory staff and students.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a research associate or research scientist in a chemistry research group.
  • Strong knowledge of organic, inorganic, and organometallic chemistry, as well as bioinorganic chemistry.
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be employed on a part-time basis, working 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, ranging from $80,040 to $108,257 per year.
