Job Summary:

As a successful Health Care Aide, you will work in a self-motivated environment, adhering to the provided care plan established in collaboration with the client, family, and members of the interdisciplinary team. Your role will involve expanding your knowledge as a HCA, participating in education and local home care office initiatives. You will have the opportunity to contribute as part of the interdisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent creativity and resourcefulness with the ability to think on your feet with little direction.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team, providing personal assistance and support services to patients.
  • Support activities of daily living, including hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs.
  • Assist nurses with the provision of routine care, observing and reporting on a patient's mood, health, and wellbeing.
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors, and maintain effective communication with patients and health professionals.


Required Qualifications:

Completion of Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active directory status on the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrolment from the Directory.
