Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Island Health. The successful candidate will possess excellent technical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment. You will be responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures, preparing and monitoring supplies and equipment, and operating acquisition equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI procedures with precision and attention to detail, ensuring accurate diagnoses and minimizing patient discomfort.
  • Prepare and maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Monitor and manage equipment, including magnetic resonance imagers and computerized patient data systems.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Graduation from an accredited Magnetic Resonance program and designation as a certified Technologist in Magnetic Resonance (RTMR) with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
  • Excellent technical skills and knowledge of image quality assessment and control, diagnostic equipment procedures, radiation safety, and quality control standards and practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and management.
