Job Summary:

The Asphalt Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of asphalt plant operations in BC and Yukon, working closely with Regional Construction Managers to ensure production, maintenance, quality control, and safety standards are met. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as extensive knowledge of asphalt production processes and the ability to efficiently oversee plant operations and resources across a large geographical area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of direct and indirect reports, providing strategic and operational guidance to ensure the success of the asphalt manufacturing business.
  • Develop and implement business strategies to drive growth and profitability, including market analysis, customer relationship management, and vendor and supply chain management.
  • Oversee plant operations, including supply chain, manufacturing, logistics, and quality control, ensuring production schedules are met and plant performance is optimized.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement measures to achieve business objectives, including cost reduction and process improvement initiatives.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to the business, including health and safety, financial, contractual, technical, operational, quality, environmental, and regulatory risks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in asphalt plant management or a similar role within the construction industry with P&L responsibilities.
  • Extensive knowledge of asphalt production processes, equipment, and quality control standards.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time and possess a valid license and clean driver's abstract.
Working Conditions:

The Asphalt Plant Manager will work in a fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances. The role will involve regular travel to various business units and corporate offices, as well as overtime as required. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and possess a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this position is $130,000.00–$160,000.00 CAD per year, with the final compensation package determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
