Community Advantage Rehabilitation (CAR) is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in Durham Region, ON.
We are looking for a dedicated professional to provide community-based Occupational Therapy services to adults and children in the following areas: Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Bowmanville, Uxbridge, and Newcastle.
As a Community Occupational Therapist, you will have the opportunity to work independently and as part of an inter-professional team to provide ministry-funded services, assessments, and interventions in the client's place of residence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing occupational therapy assessments and interventions in areas such as home safety, home modifications, equipment prescription, fall prevention, mobility, cognition, and stroke.
- Developing and implementing best practice and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions in collaboration with clients and caregivers.
- Providing education to clients and caregivers and linking to community agencies and resources when appropriate.
- Completing funding applications and maintaining documentation according to CAR and COTO standards.
Requirements:
- Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
- Experience in working in a community setting is preferred but will consider new graduates.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an inter-professional team.
- Ability to prioritize, manage self-scheduling, and meet reporting deadlines.
- Excellent oral, written skills, and report writing.
- Proficiency with computers.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Reliable transportation is required for this position.
