The Corporation of the Town of Ajax is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Preschool Instructor to join our team in a seasonal capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and implementing engaging preschool programs for children aged 3-5 years.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality preschool programs that meet the needs of the community.
  • Act as a team leader and work collaboratively with preschool assistants to ensure a safe and enjoyable learning environment.
  • Plan and implement special events, themes, and guest speakers to enhance the preschool experience.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive program plan that aligns with the Town's corporate philosophies and policies.
  • Promote an environment of safety, respect, and inclusivity among participants.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, public, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive preschool experience.

Requirements:

  • College diploma or university degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with preschool-aged children.
  • Knowledge and experience in delivering recreational programs.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills.
  • Self-motivated, positive, confident, and approachable.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Respectful of diverse opinions and perspectives.
  • Valid Standard First Aid with CPR certification.
  • Able to provide a current Criminal Reference Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) that is satisfactory to the Town.

What We Offer:

  • Rate of Pay: $22.97 - $24.97 per hour.
  • Hours of Work: Up to 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday, various shifts.
