Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled and organized Booking Clerk to join our General Radiology team at the Squamish Hospital in Squamish, BC. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our department and delivering exceptional patient care.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for performing scheduling and booking functions for a variety of patient appointments within Radiology. You will work closely with our General Radiology team to arrange times with patients, doctors' offices, nursing units, physicians, technical staff, and surgical/medical daycare.
Key Responsibilities- Perform scheduling and booking functions for patient appointments
- Support the General Radiology team by making follow-up appointments and locating applicable images/films prior to appointments
- Rearrange schedules to meet changing demands/requests and prepare and confirm patient information
- Enter booking, patient, and image/film information into radiology and hospital computerized and/or manual booking and patient information systems
- Filing requisitions for all bookings and acting as a receptionist to support the delivery of patient care
- Grade 12 and two (2) years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to keyboard at 40 wpm and knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and deal with others effectively
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position and ability to organize work
