We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Soil to provide technical knowledge in areas of soil conservation, reclamation, and contamination management across the province. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental protection policies and regulations, as well as experience working with industry professionals and government agencies. They will be responsible for reviewing applications and soil-related submissions, providing technical requirements for approvals, and collaborating with experts across industry, academia, and government.
The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound recommendations based on technical knowledge and expertise. They will also be a team player with the ability to influence without authority and work cooperatively within multi-disciplinary teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for presenting and communicating complex technical information to a variety of audiences.
We require a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science, Soil Science, or related science discipline, with a minimum of 8 years progressive experience; or a Master of Science Degree and a minimum of 5 years progressive experience. Eligibility for membership with the Alberta institute of Agrologists or other applicable professional regulatory organization is also required.
