Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Central Canada. As a senior member of our mechanical engineering team, you will play a key role in all phases of engineering projects from front-end studies through to field implementation with a focus on detailed engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and participate in conceptual design studies, pre-feasibility studies, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering projects.
- Develop and prepare plans and specifications, and perform detailed engineering based on guidelines for mandates involving heavy machinery, conveyors, pump systems, crushers, and metallurgical processes.
- Perform various calculations relative to equipment sizing and design.
- Supervise or carry out design calculations and ensure that plans meet guidelines as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients to define their needs.
- Present technical information, concepts, or study results.
- Verify and produce files for tenders, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Assign and review the work of junior engineers, technicians, and drafters assigned to projects and assess technical scope.
- Coordinate the work of drafters or other non-professionals, as requested by a senior engineer.
- Ensure that work complies with budgets, schedules, estimates, and established procedures.
- Provide assistance to more experienced personnel for the technical aspects of complex tasks.
- Perform technical information surveys, when necessary.
- On occasion, monitor contractors on site.
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Member of good standing with the PEO.
- At least 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience in mechanical engineering in the industrial, energy, or mining sectors.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and SmartPlant applications.
- Available for short-term (mandatory) and long-term (asset) assignments at client offices or sites in Ontario and Canada.
- Major asset: Bilingual (English/French - spoken and written).
