Financial Services Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Financial Planner to join our team at BMO. As a Financial Planner, you will be responsible for providing financial and investment planning advice to customers, determining their needs, and providing solutions through the sales of managed products and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively engage with new and existing customers to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
- Implement business development strategies to acquire new business and cultivate branch referrals.
- Engage customers to grow BMO's business by reaching out, generating appointments, and building new relationships within the community.
- Identify opportunities during customer conversations to generate referrals for personal and commercial banking products.
- Support the achievement of sales and performance targets.
- Develop and implement a relationship management plan to meet the needs of clients.
- Respond to customer investment requests and refer them to partners where appropriate.
- Develop solutions and make recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
- Break down strategic problems and analyze data to provide insights and recommendations.
- Execute work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.
- Introduce clients to investment strategies and work with them to set goals and make real financial progress.
- Probe to understand customer personal investment and banking needs and integrate marketing promotions into customer conversations.
- Look for ways to contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall business results and customer experience.
- Maintain current knowledge of personal investment products, practices, and trends and integrate them into customer conversations.
- May work at multiple branches and through various channels to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve overall business objectives.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Protect the Bank's assets and comply with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
Qualifications:
- Typically between 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CFP designation preferred or one of the following: Personal Financial Planner (PFP) designation, Wealth Management Essentials (WME) + Financial Planning Supplement, Professional Financial Planning Course (PFPC), Financial Planning I & II (FP I & II).
- Canadian Securities Course - Licensed to sell mutual funds excluding QC or IQPF in Quebec.
- Advanced working knowledge of the financial industry.
- Specialized knowledge from education and/or business experience.
- Verbal and written communication skills - In-depth.

- Analytical and problem-solving skills - In-depth.
- Influence skills - In-depth.
Salary: $49,000.00 - $90,800.00
Pay Type: Salaried & Commission
The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
