Renal Program Nurse Specialist

Job Summary:
Prairie Mountain Health is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team in a Renal Program. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients/residents/clients in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
About the Role:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will practice in accordance with the Licensed Practical Nurses Act of Manitoba, CLPNM Standards of Practice, CLPNM Code of Ethics, and Scope of Practice Entry-Level Competencies. You will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care and maintain a positive working environment.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain and maintain relevant competencies for the position as offered by Prairie Mountain Health
- Practice within the scope of practice of the Licensed Practical Nurses Act and approved College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM) Scope of Practice and Entry-Level Competencies
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues and patients
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients/residents/clients in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge
Requirements:
- Active practicing licensure with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM), or eligibility for active practicing licensure with the CLPNM
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Training as delineated in Prairie Mountain Health Policy PPG-00002 CPR Training
- Successful completion of the Manitoba Nephrology Nursing Course
- One (1) year equivalent full-time experience in a Renal Program as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the last three (3) years
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Ability to respect and promote confidentiality
- Ability to perform the duties of the position on a regular basis
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
- Ability to work effectively and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, clients, and within interdisciplinary teams
Salary and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary range of $$$45,500 - $62,400 per annum, based on experience. In addition, we provide comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a pension plan and opportunities for professional development.
