Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef de Partie (Tournant) to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality food products, ensuring exceptional presentation and taste. Your passion for food preparation and commitment to safety and quality will inspire your team to deliver outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook hot and cold food items according to recipes and standards.
  • Oversee and support the Executive Chef and Executive Sous-Chef in synchronizing food preparation tasks.
  • Monitor production levels and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Train and support cooks in their planning role and ensure consistency in food preparation.
  • Ensure proper handling of food products and equipment, maintaining high sanitation standards.
  • Liaise with departmental chefs to keep open lines of communication regarding production levels.
  • Deputize in the sous-chef's absence and take charge of the kitchen when directed.
Requirements
  • Diploma or degree from an approved culinary training facility.
  • Interprovincial Red Seal, Journeyman's Papers, or international equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in the culinary field, with large volume production an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible and reliable.
  • Working knowledge of Cook, Chill Retherm cooking process.
  • Food Handlers Certification.
  • Completed clean Criminal Background Check before first day of employment.
Working Conditions

This role requires frequent movement around a large facility, handling, lifting, and operating kitchen equipment, and working irregular hours, nights, and weekends. The ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment is essential.
