Job Summary

Graymont Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Bedford plant in Monteregie, QC. As a key member of our plant's leadership team, you will be responsible for coordinating a team of maintenance tradespeople and specialists to ensure the effective maintenance of our quarry and plant facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained.
  • Facilitate a positive working environment and empower the maintenance team to take ownership of their work.
  • Review and identify training requirements to develop the skills and capabilities of the maintenance team.
  • Monitor and review maintenance activities to ensure they are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Act as a technical resource and coach to maintenance team members and peers.
  • Ensure effective long- and short-term planning, scheduling, and processes are managed in partnership with production departments.
  • Deploy personnel and resources to execute the weekly maintenance schedule effectively.
  • Provide high-level support to the plant reliability program to enable short- and long-term success in proactive asset management.
  • Manage emergency maintenance activities and ensure contractors on site perform maintenance activities safely and effectively.
  • Participate in communication and coordination between maintenance, production, management, and other functional groups within Graymont Limited.
  • Coordinate and manage Graymont Limited's assets in accordance with our Maintenance Excellence Program to continuously improve proactive maintenance practices and ensure sustainability.
  • Monitor and report on various KPIs to measure the effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities in the various maintenance functions.
  • Communicate and work with production personnel to ensure equipment up-time is maintained at the highest possible standards in terms of product quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Participate in maintenance budgeting and ensure maintenance costs are well managed.

Requirements

  • Established track record of developing and maintaining a safe work culture.
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • College or University degree in a related field, or Journeyman, with heavy industrial experience (maintenance, production, or engineering) and preferably supervisory experience.
  • High aptitude in the use of various computer software (JDE, Excel, Word, and other MS software) and experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Excellent communicator (both written and oral), self-directed, and highly motivated.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving and decision-making skills.
