Job Title: Electrical and Controls Engineer

Laporte Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Electrical and Controls Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems, including medium and low voltage distribution, emergency backup systems, and grounding.


Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and will be responsible for:

  1. Electrical engineering design, including medium and low voltage distribution, emergency backup systems, and grounding.
  2. Power system engineering, including power system modeling and engineering studies.
  3. Load control engineering, including motor control centers and variable frequency drives.
  4. Process control and control system engineering, including P&ID and control narrative, instrumentation, and process control panels.
  5. Project engineering, including project management, utility coordination, and design packages.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Relevant 5 to 10 years of experience in consulting engineering.
  • Current registration with the provincial engineering association (AB).
  • Experience in consulting engineering in agrifood, food and beverage industries an asset.
  • Process control and control system automation an asset.
  • Knowledge of control system platforms (Rockwell Automation, DeltaV, Siemens) an asset.
