About the Role:

Cerelia Bakery Canada LP is seeking a highly skilled Food Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our quality team, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of our SQF program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a comprehensive SQF system that ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and industry best practices.
  2. Conduct regular internal audits to identify and address potential food safety hazards and non-conformances.
  3. Lead and participate in investigations of food safety incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  4. Develop and maintain SQF program documentation, including procedures, records, and reports.
  5. Train and educate employees on SQF principles and procedures to foster a culture of food safety awareness.
  6. Stay up to date on the latest SQF requirements and best practices in food safety.
  7. Assist the QA Manager with SQF certification audits and address any findings.
  8. Act as QA Manager back-up when required.
  9. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and programs at all times.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food manufacturing with a focus on food safety.
  • Completion of HACCP training course.
  • Proven understanding of SQF Food Safety Code V9: Food Manufacturing and its implementation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Ability to write clear and concise SOPs and Policies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
