About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machine Operator to join our team at ROCKWOOL Group in Milton, ON. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production line, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and adhering to our high standards of quality and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workplace
  • Report quantity of deficiencies and the cause
  • Separate waste
  • Report all irregularities related to the work of subordinate devices
  • Partner with Maintenance to ensure proper functioning of equipment and safe removal of failures and/or machine problems
  • Inform supervisor and relevant shifts of any problems or tasks in need of attention
  • Plan efficient product changes
  • Communicate unusual conditions, equipment issues, or reasons for change of production volume to cross shift operator
  • Complete shutdown tasks and procedures
Work Environment & Conditions
  • Fast-paced high volume production facility
  • Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors for 12 hours per day
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs alone and 120 lbs with another person
  • Ability to shovel heavy waste to shoulder height
  • Ability to wear protective safety equipment for several hours daily

Requirements
  • Strong work ethic

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions/processes
  • Ability to adhere to a continental rotating 12-hour shift schedule

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and ability to work in a safe manner
  • Prior experience in machine set-up and computers
  • Good understanding of how equipment operates to clear equipment safely
  • Forklift experience/certification
