We are seeking a highly skilled Disability Management Specialist to join our team at the District of West Vancouver. As a key member of our Human Resources & Payroll Division, you will play a critical role in supporting employees who are injured or ill, with the goal of returning them to work.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive case management plans to facilitate employee return to work.
- Provide expert disability management advice and support to employees and managers.
- Ensure that practices are consistent and compliant with relevant legislation, collective agreements, and policies.
- Act as the primary contact with case managers, rehabilitation specialists, and other representatives of WorksafeBC.
- Investigate and report workplace accidents, collaborating with the Occupational Health & Safety Specialist.
- Effectively communicate with employees, managers, and external contacts to build trust and credibility.
- Collaborate with colleagues to proactively address health, safety, attendance, and wellness issues.
- Manage and report on key metrics related to disability management.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A degree or diploma in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, with a focus on Disability Management.
- At least 3 years of experience in Disability Management, preferably in a complex, multi-union environment.
- Advanced knowledge of case management principles, relevant legislation, and best practices.
- Knowledge of non-occupational disability management and WorkSafeBC claims adjudication processes.
