Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for students in Junior Kindergarten, Senior Kindergarten, Grade 7, and Grade 8
  • Design and implement individualized education plans for students with special needs
  • Manage classroom environment and maintain proper order and discipline
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to ensure student success
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge
Accountabilities:
  • Teach diligently the classes and subjects assigned by the School Administration
  • Prepare daily teaching plans, course outlines, and other plans as required
  • Be responsible for all classroom materials and equipment
  • Accurately maintain student progress and report to the principal as needed
  • Teach, promote, and respect Kl community values and beliefs
Requirements:
  • Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Two years of successful teaching experience in schools with Indigenous students (an asset)
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated respect for Kl's language, culture, heritage, and ways
  • Additional Qualifications courses in Reading, Math, and Special Education (an asset)
