Job Title: Network & Telecom - Network Engineer

At Alstom, we're committed to creating a more sustainable and connected world. As a Network Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in designing, deploying, and validating network and telecom solutions that enable our customers to move people and goods efficiently.

About the Role:

You'll be part of our Network and Telecom design team, working on complex projects that require a deep understanding of network hardware, software, and protocols. Your expertise will be essential in solving problems, developing and executing objectives, and driving short-term and long-term business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy network and telecom solutions that meet customer requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network and telecom systems
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including system functional specifications, architecture design descriptions, and interface control documents
  • Perform capacity analysis and network maintenance to ensure optimal performance
  • Participate in radio and network design and implementation activities, as well as installation, test, and commissioning activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience in networking or telecommunications
  • 10+ years of experience in network design, deployment, and maintenance
  • P. Eng certification or in progress

Desired Characteristics:

  • Knowledge of network security and policies
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and LAN/WAN protocols
  • Experience with network management tools and traffic generators
