Job Summary

The Silver Hotel Group is seeking a skilled Banquet Server to join our team. As a Banquet Server, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our events and providing exceptional service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Banquet Managers in serving guests during events to ensure a positive experience;
  • Set up banquet rooms according to specifications, including glassware, servingware, and linens;
  • Attend pre-con meetings to learn about events and hotel expectations;
  • Greets and welcomes guests, responding to their requests in a courteous and friendly manner;
  • Serve beverages and food in the appropriate order, ensuring consistency throughout the event;
  • Remove dishes as guests finish each course and at the end of the meal or function;
  • Abide by all corporate acts, laws, and requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages and food handling;
  • Replenish beverages as needed and check with guests regularly to ensure satisfaction;
  • Reset banquet rooms after events to ensure readiness for future functions;
  • Follow attendance and break rules;
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.

Physical Aspects of the Position

  • Frequent walking with some standing at times, possibly extended distances;
  • Ability to bend and climb stairs when necessary;
  • Frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs;
  • Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs;
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms in any direction and kneel and stoop repeatedly.

Requirements

  • Previous serving experience is preferred;
  • Knowledge of catering practices is a plus;
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, and the ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to work quickly and as a team in a fast-paced environment;
  • High level of professionalism and an eye for presentation.
