Sunrise Farms is a leading poultry industry company with a strong focus on quality and innovation. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the DunnRite plant.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper performance and operation of machinery and mechanical equipment for production. This includes minimizing production downtime by completing preventive maintenance inspections, planned work orders, and responding to breakdowns and emergency repairs in an efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure proper performance and operation of machinery and mechanical equipment for production
  • Minimize production downtime by completing preventive maintenance inspections, planned work orders, and responding to breakdowns and emergency repairs
  • Install, maintain, and repair all electrical systems and machineries at the plant
  • Provide support to production in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and basic mechanical breakdowns
  • Comply with all necessary manufacturing codes, regulations, and standards, including GMP, HACCP, WHIMIS, and MSDS
  • Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and calibration activities, maintaining an updated record of PM
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve maintenance operations
  • Perform pre-dial electrical installation as per the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Able to perform repair, replacement, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of various equipment and systems
  • Manage the CMMS system, creating work orders, updating the system, closing work orders, etc.
  • Complete maintenance reports and logs as required
Requirements:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
  • Preferably electrical experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Strong preventive, maintenance, and troubleshooting ability
  • Must be flexible in terms of shift work
  • Great knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code Book
  • Great troubleshooting skills in PLC, VFDs, and motor control circuits
  • Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Responsible and highly adaptable to work under pressure and respond to changes
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work to manage multiple work orders to meet deadlines
  • Ability to excel within a fast-paced team environment and function independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 20 kilograms required
  • Must have an Interprovincial Red Seal Electrical Trade ticket
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment in a leadership role
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance within a manufacturing environment is preferred
