Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Operations Analyst III to join our team at ATB Financial. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the efficient and accurate completion of day-to-day account maintenance activities. You will also be responsible for administering our FACTA, CRA, and QI Compliance program, as well as non-plan tax audits.

About the Role

The successful candidate will report directly to the Manager, Operations Processing, and will provide primary support to partners within ATB Wealth regarding account types, account opening, documentation requirements, and maintenance of accounts. Additionally, the Analyst III will review documentation and reporting to ensure the firm's compliance with FACTA, CRS, and QI. This includes independently managing time while monitoring multiple queues to reallocate team resources effectively, meeting Service Level Agreements, and adhering to regulatory controls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with operations teams, advisors, and their assistants, and Compliance on account-specific questions and escalations.
  • Consistently and accurately monitor reporting to identify errors or gaps in documentation and address them to ensure firm compliance with our non-registered tax compliance program.
  • Assist in building reporting through various platforms to strengthen ATB Wealth's compliance program in the areas of FACTA, QI, CRS, and non-plan tax.
  • Review requests that come through various queues, demonstrating agility and accuracy in processing a variety of requests from multiple platforms.
  • Support Non-Registered Plan Specialists with various firm, industry, IRS, and CRA initiatives.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing cyclical requests both professionally and accurately.
  • Collaborate with ATB Wealth colleagues and use resources to problem-solve.
  • Apply good judgment and critical thinking skills to make decisions within recognized limits.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should possess post-secondary education or a diploma. Previous experience within the securities industry or an IIROC licensed firm is preferred. A working knowledge of FACTA, CRS, and QI would be an asset. The candidate should also have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a highly professional team player, and have strong technical proficiencies, including G-Suite programs and the ability to quickly learn other relevant programs.
