Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the highest possible standards of practice, including prompt delivery of services to match established key performance indicators and provincial metrics.
  • Supervise technical staff and oversee the laboratory quality assurance program.
  • Participate in clinical consultation with physicians, surgeons, and oncologists.
  • Contribute to general surgical pathology practice.


Qualifications:

  • Eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta.
  • Certification in Anatomic Pathology or (AP/CP) General Pathology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Pathology.
  • Fellowship training in Cytopathology.


The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate effective communication skills, experience in quality assurance, operational efficiency, and appropriateness of care. They must also be able to work in a dynamic, changing environment and balance service and quality imperatives in a resource-sensitive environment.
