Job Summary

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator / Project Manager to join our team. As a skilled estimator, you'll be responsible for performing quantity take-offs for plumbing, heating, and mechanical equipment, collaborating with suppliers to obtain accurate and competitive pricing, and coordinating with subtrades and general contractors to develop comprehensive bids.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantity take-offs for plumbing, heating, and mechanical equipment.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to obtain accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Coordinate with subtrades and general contractors to develop comprehensive bids.
  • Initiate projects, prepare necessary documentation, and ensure smooth project kick-off.
  • Oversee shop drawings submissions, ensuring timely and accurate approvals.
  • Control project scope, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Manage project schedules and monitor progress to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Prepare and manage change orders as needed to address scope adjustments.

Requirements

  • Experience with at least one estimation software in the mechanical industry (e.g., McCormick, Trimble Auto bid, Fastpipe, Fastduct or similar).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the mechanical contracting industry.
  • Strong communication skills, both direct and via email, with the ability to build relationships while delivering clear, assertive messages.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Proficient in using Bluebeam, Excel, and email, with strong organizational skills to efficiently manage a large volume of documents.
  • Passionate about learning, research, and finding new ways to improve themselves.
