Job Description

Database Administrator Role

As a Database Administrator at American Iron & Metal, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and evolving our data management and efficiency to support and enhance our core business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of databases services
  • Administer a large number of databases instances and services
  • Contribute to define standards and best practices for databases design and operations
  • Innovate on databases management by implementing automation and self-healing solutions
  • Maintain cutting-edge performance and monitoring systems
  • Uphold exemplary technical documentation and contribute to the knowledge-sharing culture
  • Participate in after-hours support and perform occasional maintenance

Requirements

  • Proven experience in database administration (MSSQL and/or PostgreSQL)
  • Expertise in database performance issue troubleshooting
  • Advanced knowledge of database and IS architecture
  • Knowledge of scripting for automation
  • Proficiency in system administration
  • A proven track record in implementing and managing infrastructure observability and monitoring tools
  • Experience with different network technologies
  • Experience with systems and infrastructures management
  • Bilingual communication skills in English and French
