Plant Controller Opportunity

CertainTeed Architectural Solutions, a division of Saint-Gobain, is seeking a highly skilled Plant Controller to join our team at our Vaughan location.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our growth and success by providing fast and efficient support to our Canadian business.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing plant controlling responsibilities, including managing timely completion of month-end financial close, analyzing and reconciling accounts, and preparing and analyzing monthly operating cost variances.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage month-end financial close and ensure accuracy of financial statements
  • Analyze and reconcile accounts to ensure balance sheet and costs are properly stated
  • Prepare and analyze monthly operating cost variances to standard, prior month, and prior year
  • Maintain proper spending controls and lead the budgeting process at the plant
  • Ensure compliance with SGC, CertainTeed, and Ceilings division policies and internal controls
  • Monitor and facilitate Capex project completions and fixed asset capitalizations/retirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
  • 3-5+ years of increasing responsibility in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate complex topics to non-financial stakeholders
