The estimated annual base salary for this role is $110,000-$140,000, benchmarked and reviewed annually.

Job Description

As a Senior HVAC Controls Specialist at Ecosystem's Toronto office, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians on various innovative, multimillion-dollar large-scale energy solutions projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform on-site surveys of client existing controls and BAS during design phase.
  • Analyze client existing sequences of operation as well as performance of their mechanical systems.
  • Select and size correct major controls devices, such as valves, actuators, and sensors.
  • Establish and document new and existing control points.
  • Establish sequences of operation.
  • Work closely with Construction Manager to develop RFPs to attract correct controls contractor for hire.
  • Collaborate with Construction Manager and mechanical systems manufacturers to perform start-ups on all systems and equipment, including boilers and chillers.
  • Train client on-site staff in use and maintenance of newly installed mechanical systems.
  • Optimize operation of new and existing equipment and systems to achieve peak efficiency.
  • Monitor completed projects to maintain energy savings during follow-up period.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, College degree in Building Automation Systems or Instrumentation and Control, or other relevant education and/or experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in control systems from leading integrators or manufacturers, such as Delta Controls, Distech Controls, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, and Tridium.
  • Experience in Building Automation Systems (HVAC).
  • Experience in writing and implementing sequence of operations.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware devices and wiring.
  • Ability to read and write BAS programming.
  • Ability to be on-site and/or at the office (60% in average) according to project phases.
  • Ability work autonomously and demonstrate good judgment.
  • Valid driver's license.
