Role Overview

BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Breast Imaging Specialist to join our team. This role will assume clinical responsibility, participate in resident education, and provide diagnostic breast imaging services for women referred to the program.

About BCW

BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre (BCW) is the only facility in British Columbia devoted primarily to the health of women, newborns, and families. We provide a broad range of specialized women's health services that address the health needs of women of all ages and backgrounds.

Program Highlights

  • We perform screening mammography, diagnostic mammography, including tomosynthesis, and breast ultrasound.
  • We are the second site in British Columbia to offer contrast-enhanced mammography.
  • We currently perform stereotactic, tomosynthesis, and ultrasound biopsies.
  • We aim to be the first site in British Columbia to offer contrast-enhanced biopsy.
  • We are actively developing our breast MRI program and aim to start in the fall with MRI-guided biopsy capability.

About the Role

This position requires a strong passion for advancing breast imaging and excellent interpersonal, communication, and procedural skills. The successful candidate will be committed to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in the Province of British Columbia.
  • The successful candidate will be recommended for clinical faculty appointment to the University of British Columbia.
