The Opportunity

As a key member of our Operations Team in Toronto, the Outbound Planner plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of goods. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing pre-planning for assigned regions, taking into account customer requirements, planning needs in other regions, equipment requirements, and special needs requests.
  • Entering pre-plans into the computer system in a timely manner.
  • Collaborating with Driver Coordinators to meet driver needs and goals.
  • Implementing efficient equipment utilization.
  • Monitoring and maintaining customer trailer pools.
  • Working with customers, other carriers, and load brokers to balance trucks.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervision or management.

What You Need to Be Successful in the Role

  • Fluency in both French and English.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in effective trip planning.
  • Strong self-discipline to complete tasks without constant supervision.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Effective geographical knowledge of North America.
  • Ability to work statutory holidays when required.
  • Effective computer keyboard skills.
  • ACE and Customs/border crossing experience an asset.
  • AS400/ICC experience an asset.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 4:00pm to 12:00am.
