Job Summary

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Staff Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented software engineer who is passionate about building innovative solutions using cutting-edge technologies. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work closely with our product and design teams to create and test new features that meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality software solutions using JVM-based languages (Kotlin preferred) and Python
  • Collaborate with our product and design teams to brainstorm, design, and implement new features
  • Work closely with our development team to ensure seamless integration and deployment of new features
  • Continuously advocate for our customers at every opportunity
  • Mentor and be mentored by everyone around you to maintain a modern software environment
Requirements
  • Successful completion of solutions in JVM-based languages (Kotlin preferred) as well as Python
  • Strong experience with technologies such as message queues, kubernetes, terraform, SQL and no-SQL datastore, and caching
  • Proven track record delivering solutions to complex problems such as identity, search, and empowering engineering teams through building platforms
  • Deep experience with cloud infrastructure, continuous deployments, and AWS or similar technology
