Job Summary
Island Health is seeking a full-time or part-time Psychiatrist to join our team in an outpatient setting, providing care to an adult population with a wide range of psychiatric and substance use diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric services to patients with complex mental health needs, including those with persistent mental illness, personality disorders, and co-morbid conditions.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans that promote recovery and community integration.
- Participate in the development and implementation of community-based programs and services to support individuals with mental health needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers and community agencies to ensure seamless care coordination and transitions.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures related to mental health services.
Requirements
- Eligible for licensure as a Psychiatrist in British Columbia.
- Experience working with adults with complex mental health needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and changing clinical environment.
