Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the PEI Bag Company. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on our plant equipment, ensuring optimal production efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions;
• Troubleshoot and repair system problems;
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance routines;
• Project work when required to upgrade or install new equipment;
• Develop and maintain maintenance documentation;
• Adhere to all safety rules and procedures;
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area and ensure that all work tools are in safe operating condition.

Work Environment

The physical environment requires the employee to move in a fast-paced indoor manufacturing environment. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment for safety precaution. Must be able to pay attention to detail, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time and bend, crouch, or kneel as may be required to repair equipment.

• Competitive hourly rate between $22.00 - $28.00 per hour depending on qualification and experience;

Hours of Work

• Monday to Friday;
• 8:00am-4:30pm or 7:30am-4:00pm;
• To be determined. Schedule may be subject to slight variation to meet operational demands. Overtime may be available.

Job Qualifications

• Post-secondary education required in one or more of the following maintenance fields: electromechanical, industrial electrical, industrial automation or a combination of demonstrated equivalencies and related experience may be considered;
• Legally entitled to work in Canada;
• Integrity and work ethic;
• Strong troubleshooting skills;
• High energy, initiative, and sense of urgency to get the job done;
• Strong communication and team work skills;
• Understanding of industrial automation and controls.
