Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HSE Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and administering the Bird Safety Program, monitoring safety compliance, and ensuring a healthy and safe work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate statistics and records of accidents, incidents, and safety violations, and assist in investigations and documentation.
- Assist in the planning and startup of new projects, ensuring safety issues are addressed.
- Inventory safety-related training of workers and conduct new worker safety orientations.
- Regularly monitor safety compliance of workers and subcontractors, conducting site inspections and implementing remedial action as needed.
- Ensure completion of regular site inspection reports from field management, noting resolution to any deficiencies or actions taken.
- Conduct field-level safety meetings, tool box talks, and health and safety informational awareness.
- Assist in the administration, documentation, and management of the Company's COR program.
- Keep management informed of any issues that may impact work being performed.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of field safety experience, preferably in a construction environment.
- Construction Safety Officer (CHSO or NCSO) certification is required.
- Relevant post-secondary education in HSE is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate self and others.
- Strong mentoring skills.
- Results-oriented leader capable of working productively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Good working knowledge of local government Health & Safety Acts, Policies, Regulations, and Industry Standards as they apply to the construction industry.
