Job Summary:
The Health and Safety Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive occupational health and safety program for DSV Solutions Inc. This includes conducting safety training, risk assessments, and compliance inspections to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety training programs for employees and subcontractors
- Conduct regular risk assessments and compliance inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions
- Collaborate with senior management, Human Resources, and warehouse operations management to ensure a safe working environment
- Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on occupational health and safety issues
- Monitor and report on workplace injuries and incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences
- Stay up-to-date with changes to occupational health and safety legislation and regulations, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as occupational health and safety or a related field
- Three to five years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, managers, and external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
