Job Title: Occupational Instructor

Job Summary:

The Occupational Instructor provides task evaluation, skills instruction, job maintenance, and employment planning for clients engaged within the Employment Options Program. This role requires collaboration with the Rehabilitation Officer, and/or referring sources, to meet the clients' short and long-term vocational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide task evaluation and skills instruction to clients
  • Collaborate with the Rehabilitation Officer to meet clients' vocational goals
  • Work with the Supervisor and members of Team Werks Co-op Inc. to meet operational and business-related goals
  • Develop and implement employment plans for clients

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in social services, rehabilitation, or a related field
  • Five or more years of experience providing employment supports or vocational rehabilitation services
  • Working knowledge of current vocational programs and services provided locally and in Northwestern Ontario
  • Working knowledge of Principles of Psychosocial Rehabilitation and the Recovery philosophy
  • Sound knowledge of basic business principles and/or experience working in a business environment

Working Conditions:

  • Valid Class G Driver's License with adequate insurance
  • Standard First Aid certificate
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Condition of Employment:

  • This position is conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
  • Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination or valid medical exemption
