Job Summary
Saskatchewan Polytechnic is seeking a qualified Casual Instructor to teach in the Environmental Engineering Technology program. The successful candidate will have experience in environmental monitoring and a background in chemistry and ecology.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver instructional content for environmental engineering technology courses.
- Prepare and use effective instructional methods for teaching assignments.
- Manage the classroom environment to ensure an optimal learning experience for students.
- Evaluate and record student progress using appropriate assessment methods.
- Make curriculum adjustments as needed to ensure course content remains current and relevant.
- Accommodate students with special learning needs and provide support as required.
- Attend staff, program, and division meetings to stay informed and contribute to decision-making.
- Pursue professional development opportunities to stay current with industry and educational requirements.
- Develop and maintain effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in an interdependent team environment.
- Adhere to academic regulations and policies adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic and the campus.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities, and Experience
- Engineering technology diploma or engineering degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- Member of or eligible for certification with SASTT as an A.Sc.T. or with APEGS as a P.Eng.
- Two years' recent/relevant experience in the Environmental and/or Water Resources engineering field.
- Effective communication skills (written and oral).
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Effective instructional ability.
- Demonstrates valuing diversity.
