About the Role

The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is a key member of our team at BGIS, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance, routine services on facility mechanical and other systems, and troubleshooting issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of equipment and systems.
  • Respond to service requests and perform corrective maintenance activities as needed.
  • Conduct facility walkthroughs to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless facility operations and maintenance.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to continuously improve maintenance processes.

Requirements

  • College Diploma/Certification in a relevant field (e.g., HVAC, facilities management).
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to wear Personal Protective Equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Gasfitter I & II license and refrigeration license.
  • Working towards Building Environment Systems (BES) Operation Class 1.
  • Facilities Technician Certification through an accredited institution.
