The Pipefitter/Plumber (Hourly) will work on a three-shift rotation to support manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Installing and maintaining steam and hot water heating systems, high pressure steam lines, sprinkler systems and piping systems for air, oil, gas, paint, acids, solvents, fluids, etc., including pumps and collectors.
  • Cutting, threading, bending, filing, burring, reaming and installing pipes, couplings, unions, elbows, flanges, valves, etc.
  • Working with cast iron, brass, stainless steel, and other types of piping, valves, traps and vessels and using all types of Pipefitter's tools including, taps, portable power pipe threaders, gas torches, hacksaws, drills and benders.
  • Diagnosing malfunctioning systems and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair, ensuring compliance with codes (Legislative, Safety); and being responsible to ensure that all work completed results in the highest quality of product leaving the workstation (piece of equipment/machine).

Key Requirements:

  • Certificate of Apprenticeship as a Plumber (306A)
  • Certificate of Qualification as a Plumber (306A)
  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience with pneumatics and controls
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while continuously learning
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Available for shift work and Saturday overtime
  • Legally authorized to work in Canada
