To be considered for this role, applicants must have a complete high school education, Manitoba standards, and a successful completion of a Nursing Assistant program or equivalent (both the Health Care Aide and Unit Clerk programs) required. Medical terminology (75% pass mark) is also required.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A strong understanding of medical terminology and basic keyboarding skills are essential requirements for this role. Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
The selected candidate will also receive information and/or training within the probation period for the following: Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) and Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions). Regional, site, and unit policies and procedures, roles and responsibilities of members of the health care team, and basic keyboarding skills are also required.
