Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Specialist - Maintenance Technician to join our team at the Government of Prince Edward Island. This is a full-time position responsible for maintaining plumbing and mechanical equipment and systems in various buildings operated by Housing Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and repair plumbing and mechanical equipment: Assess requests for repairs/renovations, determine appropriate methods, and complete work in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Install and modify plumbing systems: Interpret blueprints, assemble fittings and valves, install pipes and fixtures, and modify length of pipes and materials as needed.
  • Collaborate with contractors and construction workers: Work with electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters to install and repair plumbing systems.
  • Investigate problems and carry out repairs: Analyze issues, identify tools and materials needed, write reports, and maintain accurate records of work done.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, plus relevant experience in plumbing and maintenance.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and regulations, excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Benefits
  • Estimated Salary Range: $50,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
