Job Description

As a High-Performance Java Developer for Investment Banking, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing Java-based applications and systems that support our investment banking operations. This role requires in-depth knowledge of financial instruments, trading, and risk management, as well as proficiency in Java programming.



Key Responsibilities:

  2. Design, develop, test, and deploy high-performance Java applications for various investment banking functions, including trading platforms, risk management systems, and data analytics tools.


  3. Utilize your expertise in investment banking to understand and implement solutions that align with industry standards and regulations. Stay updated on market trends and evolving technologies.


  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including traders, quants, risk managers, and other developers, to gather requirements and develop innovative solutions.


  5. Continuously optimize and enhance the performance of existing systems, ensuring they meet the demands of a fast-paced investment banking environment.


  6. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, improve team collaboration, and ensure best practices are followed.


  7. Identify and address complex technical challenges related to trading, data processing, and risk management.


  8. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for developed systems and applications.


  9. Perform thorough testing of software to ensure it meets high-quality standards and is free from defects.


  10. Ensure that all software and applications adhere to industry-specific compliance and security standards, including data protection and confidentiality.


  11. Provide ongoing support and maintenance for developed applications, promptly addressing any issues that may arise.




Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:



  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Java Developer with a focus on investment banking.
  • Strong knowledge of investment banking processes, financial instruments, trading, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in Java programming and experience with relevant frameworks and libraries.
  • Understanding of financial industry regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of database systems, SQL, and data modeling.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with version control systems and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications in Java programming, financial modeling, or risk management are desirable.
