Clinical Academic Teaching Position for Western University

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sport and Exercise Medicine Physician to join our esteemed team at the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic. As a Clinical Academic Teaching Position, you will have the opportunity to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to athletes and individuals with sports-related injuries or conditions, while also contributing to the education and training of the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide clinical teaching and supervision to a variety of learners, including PGY 1, 2, and 3 Family Medicine Residents, medical students, and other health discipline learners.
- Participate in scholarly and academic activities, including research, quality improvement, and teaching and learning in non-clinical settings.
- Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team of orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, and others to develop treatment plans based on evidence-based care, promoting injury prevention and contributing to ongoing research and education initiatives in the field of sport and exercise medicine.

About the Clinic:The Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic is a world-renowned organization committed to providing exceptional sport and exercise medicine care to athletes and active individuals across our community, region, and the country. Our multidisciplinary team comprises dedicated professionals focused on delivering comprehensive and innovative care to optimize athlete/active individuals' performance and recovery.
Requirements:- Hold an MD, or equivalent, with certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada, including a Certificate of Added Competence (or equivalent) in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
- Be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario.
- Have a relevant master's degree or interest in pursuing a Master in Clinical Science (Family Medicine) or medical education.
- Have clinical practice experience and a strong interest in teaching.
We offer a competitive compensation package, including clinical income from the Ontario Health Insurance Plan, academic alternate funding, and/or other academic support. The successful candidate will be expected to start on April 1, 2024, or as negotiated.
